Remembering Dave Strader

Hockey Hall of Fame Broadcaster Dave Strader passed away on October 1st of bile duct cancer. He was 62 years old.

Known as "The Voice he spent several years as a broadcaster for the Detroit Red Wings and most recently was with the Dallas Stars.

Nationally we were fortunate enough to have him call games on NHL on NBC even calling several playoff games this year.

What I liked the most about Dave was his unbiased professionalism. He called the game with precision and didn't get sidetracked unless it was relevant to the game. By far and away he was the best announcer NHL on NBC Sports every had.

Deepest sympathy to his family.
